MANIFESTO

A quinqué /kiŋ-ké/ is a type of oil lamp. The light of a quinqué gives warmth to those who stand close to it. (Fun fact: one of the first street lights in Stockholm was, in fact, a quinqué).

THE OLD IS THE NEW NEW

At Quinqué we believe in a learning experience based in face-to-face contact between teacher and learners.

  • FACE-TO-FACE

The value of face-to-face is irreplaceable in a virtual networking and hyperconnected world. The value of a look, the warmth of a live voice.

  • SLOW

Kindle slow learning: warm, intimate and friendly.

  • EXPERIENCE

Learning a foreign language is an experience that opens the doors to new feelings, new cultures, new worlds.

  • CONNECTIONS

A text is a network of connections. Learning a foreign language involves working actively with all kinds of texts.

  • INTERACTION

Talk from the first day and communicate from the first class. Give time, space and opportunities for students to interact. Teacher’s listening is indispensable. Feel free to express yourself.

***

The light of Quinqué is kindled by Virginia Higa and Vanessa Ruiz, both qualified teachers, specialized in SFL (Spanish as Foreign Language) and lovers of analogic, face-to-face learning and human communication.
